As digital fraud and data breaches rise, strong user verification is essential. Call-based authentication offers a reliable, real-time way to confirm identity via voice calls—more secure than SMS or email. Teleforce’s platform enables fast, scalable phone call verification across apps and systems.
Call-based authentication is a user verification method that relies on automated phone calls to confirm identity. During the process, the user either listens to a unique one-time password (OTP) or interacts with an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system to complete the verification. This method provides a secure and reliable alternative to SMS or email-based authentication, particularly in cases where those channels may be prone to delays, interception, or network issues. By leveraging voice calls, call-based authentication ensures a higher level of trust and is especially useful for critical actions like login attempts, transaction approvals, or access to sensitive information.
The user provides their phone number to trigger the authentication process—often during login, transaction confirmation, or account recovery.
A unique one-time password (OTP), valid for a limited time, is generated by the system.
An automated voice call is placed to the user’s phone, delivering the OTP clearly over the call.
The user listens to the OTP and enters it into the app or website to proceed.
If the entered OTP is correct, the system grants access. If incorrect, the user may try again.
Users who didn’t receive or entered an incorrect OTP are offered a safe way to request a new one.
All OTP events—successes, failures, and resends—are logged for fraud monitoring and audit purposes.
